Note as of posting: Yes, this focus is intended for 2010 February, and it is about 4 months late.

Busy February is busy.  Kaito’s anniversary, 4th MMD Cup, Winter Olympics, homework, Mabinogi G9 *insert more*.  Even though everything is screaming of derailment and off-topic, looking back the past month still yields a good number of enjoyable Vocaloid songs.  Now, starting with the obvious priority of the month…

【KAITO・MEIKO】ホール・ニュー・ワールド【アラジン】 | Original: Disney; Producer:

You see now, after seeing many mediocre songs made it to the Nico’s daily ranking, occasional releases like this–incredibly well-made cover really rejuvenates my motivation.  This song is one among the best–if not the best–of both Meiko and Kaito’s tuning… It proves a point: if used correctly in the hands of master, even being the older generation of Vocaloids, both nii-chan and nee-chan can sing in the most natural voice that you can ever imagine.

is a producer mostly make Vocaloid covers for other songs using mostly Meiko, Kaito, and Gackpoid.  Congratulations goes to him for this new hit song that aggregated 200k views within a month.  The only song of his that bests this song’s view count is 【KAITO】WHITE NIGHT【吸血殲鬼ヴェドゴニア】.  Same kind of quality you that rocks my expectation for this producer for all his following works… because either Kaito can sing really well, or he can sing in English, but very rarely he does both.

So to speak, 根気P’s Whole New World has created another legend as of now.  Tags like and  shows how much fandom has the song generated.  Now come to think of it, most popular Disney’s musicals kind of songs should undergo 根気P’s special treatment and wow the fans (of Vocaloids)

More (translated) info on the producer and the song itself can be found on the youtube page.  Good job to the uploader ^^

【KAITO】お兄さんとJust Be Friend【カバー】 | Original: , Cover producer: boo. I didn’t find this one on youtube :(   ->

I guess the producer is mostly known as someone who come with fun cover songs for Kaito’s birthday.  Compare to the most famous lolicon-friendly cover song, having Kaito as the vocal makes the whole thing even my amusing… or is it just me who feels its? xD

I was deciding which image to use as the cover of this Focus :p I guess I saved the fun one for last, no?  Happy birthday~

Life is tough.  I’m still learning how *not* to spell focus with “focous” while writing titles of Monthly Focus.  After the spring semester started, keeping up with updates and other stuff proved to be a bit overwhelming… especially now I picked up Mabinogi once again xD  In case you noticed this site’s downtime a just a few days ago… it is because my yearly domain contract expired, again. –_–

Pathetic excuses are pathetic.

January was a quiet mohth, except when celebrating Kagamine twins’ 2nd birthday.  (PS: to accurately document Rin and Len’s age, please use 14+n notation :p for example, now they are 14+2 years old)   12/27 was their birthday… and 1/30 was Megurine Luka oneesan’s birthday… yet her anniversary songs are still being made, we’ll see about them in the next issue of Focus.

これほんろに全部飲んれいいの? / カラコロ

“Happy birthday, Meiko姉ちゃん! ”

Shall we say that as we enjoy the content producer who brought life to the occasion.   <- Click to enter the niconico party for our beloved nee-chan, that is, if you haven’t already!

MEIKO, Crypton’s first Vocaloid product in Japan, entered the entertainment circle on 2004’s November.  However, record shows that neechan’s debut song is probably “あの素晴らしい愛をもう一度”, a bonus track for a CD (“HISTORY OF LOGIC SYSTEM”) that was published in July 2003.  So, the historical evidence not only showed that our neechan is talented and loveable from the very beginning of Japanese Vocaloid culture, it also more than just hinting that Meiko-neechan is meant to be together with Kaito-niichan ^.^

【MEIKO生誕祭2009】Change me / shu-t【オリジナル】

Music, Lyrics: shu-t
Animation: Brother

Master level tuning and good animaion, very neat and perfect opening song for the party.  ‘Change me’ echoes with my image of Meiko in perfectly sync: a skilled, mature female singer specialized in techno songs.  shu-t is being known as the master of Meiko.  His other works, like Various Feelings, is just as amazing as ‘Change me’.

Some other songs from the birthday party are actually covers, like this one:

【KAITO・MEIKOでカバーPV付き】 siGrE

Original: sm5837378
Meiko voice tuning: ほいほいP
Kaito voice tuning: てかP
Animaion: verusさん

Comparing to the original Rin&Len version, I came to realize that the mood of this song fits the older Vocaloids better than the twins.  Oh and thanks for the nice PV for explaning what’s happening xD

Hell. it’s about time.

It’s about time someone figure out that NicoNico Suite will be absolutely stunning and beautiful if combined all vocals in the VOCALOID family.  Tonight, I found have found it:

mp3 on my skyDrive:

Nothing more need to be said, enjoy the awesomeness.

PS: Here’s a version that actually includes Sweet Ann… though its sound quality is rather cruel so it received much less attention.  BTW, Sweet Ann is supposed to be the aunt…
